How to upgrade my account?
You can easily upgrade your account on the Mukuru App and the Website. To upgrade on the Mukuru App, please follow the below steps:
Step 1. Log into your Mukuru App
Step 2. Select “Increase My Limits”
Step 3. Select “Upgrade to”
Each account type will have different document requirements and unlock new sending limits.
Mukuru Account Types and document requirements
There are 3 different account types to choose from when signing up to Mukuru in the United Kingdom, each with its own sending limits and documents required. Below are the different account types to choose from and requirements:
1. Mukuru Lite
Send up to £600 per month
Requirements:
• Basic personal information
NOTE
After your first send, we will call you. We need to verify your details before you can send with us again.
2. Mukuru Core
Send between £600 – £4,000 per month
Requirements:
• Identity Document (e.g. UK Passport, UK Driver’s License, International Passport)
• A selfie holding your Identity Document
NOTE
If a customer wishes to send between £600 – £4,000 per month, Mukuru is obligated by HMRC UK Laws and Regulations to validate your Identity Document and address.
Your Identity Document is processed through software that validates your Identity Document and address. If we are unable to validate your address you will also be required to upload a proof of address.
We need to verify your documents to activate this send limit. It can take up to 24 hours.
3. Mukuru Max
Send MORE than £4,000 per month up to £120,000 per year.
(In order to send more than £4,000 per month, Mukuru is obligated to obtain proof of source of funds documentation. Your net salary needs to be a minimum of £4,000 per month to qualify for MAX)
Requirements:
• Identity Document (e.g. UK Passport, UK Driver’s License, International Passport)
• A selfie picture (picture of yourself)
• Proof of Address e.g. Utility bill (e.g. electricity, council tax, gas, water, or internet bill), Bank or Credit card Statement
• Acceptable Proof of Source of Funds
• If you have multiple streams of income then please attached the following documents: Current 3 months Bank Statements, or Deed of Sale
NOTE
We need to verify your documents to activate this send limit. It can take up to 24 hours.
You will only be able to upload proof of source of funds once you have successfully increased your limits to £4,000 per month (CORE).
