How to Sign Up for Mukuru and Get a Mukuru Card
Whether you’re using the Mukuru website or app, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you get started:
Step 1: Sign Up for Mukuru
If you’re not a Mukuru customer yet, you’ll need to register first.
-On WhatsApp: To start the registration process, type "bye" and go back to the main menu, select the option "Sign up for Mukuru" -On the website: Follow the link https://www.mukuru.com/za/signup to sign up on the website
-On the app: Download our app Mukuru: Send Money Transfers - Apps on Google Play for Android or https://apps.apple.com/za/app/mukuru-send-money-transfers/id1439918673 for IOS to register for Mukuru
You’ll need a valid South African ID or passport. In some cases, you may also be asked for proof of income or address.
Step 2: Complete Your Profile
Follow the prompts to enter your personal details and upload your documents. Once your profile is verified, you’ll be able to access all Mukuru services—including the Mukuru Card.
Step 3: Request Your Mukuru Card
Once you’re signed up, you can request your card directly through the website or app. You’ll be guided through linking your card and setting up your 4-digit Mukuru PIN.
Step 4: Activate Your Card
To activate your card, top it up with at least R100 via EFT or cash deposit. This unlocks all the card’s features like shopping, sending money, and withdrawing cash.
